Joseph Cerniglia Joins Rachel Brown, As Second Gordan Ramsay Show Suicide
Gordan Ramsay’s hit television shows, Hell’s Kitchen, and Kitchen Nightmares has seen two of his featured chefs kill themselves in the last three years. Yesterday news broke that the Body of Joseph Cerniglia was found floating in the Hudson River after apparently jumping off of the George Washington Bridge. His death was ruled a suicide. The father of 3 boys unfortunately took his own life for unknown reasons Although Cerniglia stated back in 2007, on Kitchen Nightmares, that he owed at that very moment $80,000 in cold hard cash to his purveyors, things seemed to get better after the show for the chef and restaurant owner.
That wasn’t the only death of a contestant on Gordan Ramsay’s show though. In 2007, a year after finishing in 5th place on Hell’s Kitchen, Rachel Brown shot herself to death in her family’s Dallas Texas home. She was eliminated on the show’s 5th episode, but returned for the season finale to help chef Heather West win the competition.
Our hearts go out to both families of these two great chefs, as well as all those who got close to them on Gordan Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen show.
